What made you apply for a position at Sectra?
After I graduated with my Master’s in Computer & Information Technology Administration and Management, I was eager to begin my career with a company that was actually making a difference. I started my journey with Sectra by joining the Customer Concierge program. This program allowed me to develop my skills and knowledge. The period after graduation can often be a bit nerve-wracking, and it’s easy to get lost when searching for what you want to do, but this program allowed me to feel that I can accomplish anything at Sectra.
How long have you been working at Sectra?
I have been working for Sectra USA since 2017. I started in the Customer Concierge program but worked my up. I have now held various positions at Sectra during my three years at the company. After the program, I progressed to become a Junior Support Engineer, and then a Level 2 Support Engineer. I am now transitioning to become a fully-fledged System Engineer. I have familiarized myself with the backend of our product, and I am now moving on and working with migrating patient data and installing our product across the US.
I have always been passionate about technology and using technology to resolve issues facing society. At Sectra, that is exactly what we are doing.
What do you do in a typical day at work?
Every day is different at Sectra, one day could go by easily with few problems, while prioritized issues mean that other days are more hectic. One thing is consistent though, I spend each day supporting our customers by working with them first-hand to examine and resolve their issues. I handle anything from supporting workflows to resolving site outages.
What are you passionate about?
I have always been passionate about technology and using technology to resolve issues facing society. At Sectra, that is exactly what we are doing. We are able to work on solving one of society’s most critical issues—the improvement of patient care.
How would you describe the Sectra workplace?
Sectra USA offers a great workplace environment. You really feel included, and so much knowledge is shared. It is definitely an uplifting environment.
Why would you recommend applying for a job at Sectra?
I would recommend Sectra to potential candidates because of what we are able to accomplish on a daily basis. This is not a company that simply addresses minor issues, we address how healthcare is delivered within the medical imaging space. Our products make a difference to people’s lives and wellbeing.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
Speaking with customers and building lasting relationships with them is the aspect of my job that I enjoy most of all.
Why do you enjoy the tech field?
The technology field is like no other. There is constant evolution and the desire to improve. There is always something being released, and the main goal is to improve the daily operations of our society.
What values are you driven by?
I am driven by the constant need to develop technology, and by having the ability to contribute to someone else’s wellbeing.
