What made you apply for a position at Sectra?
In my master’s, I specialized in secure systems, which meant that I took a lot of courses in computer and information security. Therefore, when I began to look for a job, the Communications division at Sectra felt like the perfect match. I had also heard a lot of good things about Sectra from friends that had done summer internships and master theses at Sectra, and I wanted to find out if the company was really as good as they claimed.
In every part of my work there is a problem that needs to be analyzed and resolved, and the feeling when you finally resolve that problem is one of the best feelings in the world.
What do you do at Sectra?
I work as a software developer, which may sound like I spend all my time in front of a computer fixing bugs and adding features to our products. However, this is not the only thing I do. Since the products I work with have a high focus on security, a lot of time is also spent making sure that they remain secure. This includes checking if our products could be exposed to any new security vulnerability that is discovered and analyzing possible ways for attackers to potentially breach the security of our products.
What do you like most about your job?
What I like most about my job is the opportunity to problem solve. In every part of my work there is a problem that needs to be analyzed and resolved, and the feeling when you finally resolve that problem is one of the best feelings in the world. Another part of my job that I like a lot is working together with the skilled and passionate people at Sectra, they truly are the best people.
How would you describe Sectra as a workplace?
I would describe Sectra as a workplace with very passionate and friendly employees. If you need help with something, they always do everything they can to help you. When I started to work here, I came straight from university, and I felt that I had to ask a lot of questions to understand how to properly do my job. Even if they had more important things to do, my colleagues always took the time to answer my questions. I am very grateful for that and it made me understand how amazing the Sectra workplace is.
Why would you recommend applying for a job at Sectra?
I would recommend applying for a job at Sectra because you get the opportunity to work with some of the coolest products in the market together with some of the best people in the field. Whether you like playing video games or flying airplanes, you can always find someone with similar interests to you or at least someone willing to learn more about your interests at Sectra. At Sectra, gut feeling is also very important. Furthermore, it is important to be happy when you go to work, and I feel that it should not be something that you do just for the money. I feel happy working at Sectra, and if that is something you also want in a job, I would recommend applying to Sectra.
