How long have you been working at Sectra?
I have been working here since February 2020. I started immediately after I graduated.
What made you apply for your position at Sectra?
While I was studying, I had a part-time job at a hospital and was introduced to radiology and PACS. The topic really interested me, so when it was time to start looking for a job, I looked for companies in that field and I found Sectra. But since I had just graduated from university, I was a bit unsure of what would be expected from me as an employee. I didn’t feel like I had the complete set of skills that many other companies required. So the sentence “We hire for attitude and ability, train for skill” in the job description really caught my eye. It removed my fear of starting my career and made me apply.
My passion is helping people, and I like the responsibility that comes with my role. If I, or my department, make a mistake, people’s lives are at stake. I know that my job has a direct impact on patients, and that is what motivates me every single day.
What do you do at Sectra?
I work as a Support Engineer in the second line of our customer support. My team consists of nine people. We work closely with our customers to get the best results, and we always do our best to exceed our customers’ expectations. My days differ a lot, but to summarize my tasks I mostly work with problem solving and troubleshooting. Customers reach out to us with various problems, and my team and I work hard to solve their problems as quickly as possible.
What are you passionate about?

What do you like most about your job?
All the opportunities Sectra offers. There is so much to learn in the field we are in and openings if I want to change department or tasks. I also like that the mangers trust us and what we do. They focus on our results and not on how we achieve them. Having the trust and support of my manager means everything.
How would you describe Sectra as a workplace?
We are a small family here in Germany, and we help, respect and encourage each other to develop. It is an uplifting environment where knowledge and experiences are shared. Everyone at Sectra is proud of what we do, and that permeates the workplace.
