Meet Erwin Krikken, Support Engineer & Project Engineer
Erwin’s education: Master of Science in Technical Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Imaging
What do you do at Sectra?
I spend 50% of my time working as a support engineer and 50% of my time working as a project engineer. As a support engineer, I’m mainly conducting support for FSB (mammography screening in the Netherlands). As a project engineer, I am currently involved in three new installations in the Netherlands. In the future, I am hoping to get more involved with the implementation of artificial intelligence.
The atmosphere is always good, and my colleagues are the best. I enjoy working at Sectra and I hope that this will continue in the future.
What do you do on a typical day at work?
I never have a normal day at work; every day is special and different from the one before. Depending on the day, I have different activities. During project days, my day is usually full of exciting meetings with the customer about the implementation of our product, or I might be busy with the actual deployment of our PACS. On support days, I am solving tickets and interacting with the customer and third parties to solve their issues.
What do you like most about your job?
I really like learning new things and as I have a background in technical medicine, and not so much in IT, I am currently learning a lot of new things. However, if I have to say what I like the most about my job, it is working together with colleagues and the interaction with customers.
How would you describe Sectra as a workplace?
From my time at Sectra so far, I would describe Sectra as a very pleasant workplace. The atmosphere is always good, and my colleagues are the best. I enjoy working at Sectra and I hope that this will continue in the future.
What has been the most exciting project you have worked on since you started with Sectra?
It has to be the deployment of the mammography screening in the Netherlands. Deploying all systems in 13 fixed locations and then in all of the mobile screening buses that drive around in the Netherlands.
