Meet Hanna Bäcker, First Line Support and Upgrade Coordinator
Hanna’s education: Master’s degree in psychology
How long have you been working at Sectra?
I started working here in October 2021.
What makes you go to work every day?
The importance of what we do! Our customers often call us during emergencies, and we have to solve their problems quickly. It’s clear that our work has a real impact on patients’ lives. This is a huge responsibility that makes me want to deliver every day.
Sectra has a strong culture. The work environment is open, supportive, flexible, and fun. I really like the way we work together, our spirit and how everyone always does their best. The atmosphere is encouraging, and I’m never afraid of being judged by my colleagues. I can ask whatever question I like, and I will always be met with respect and receive a well-thought-out answer.
What do you do in a typical day at work?
I coordinate the upgrades of our software at the customers’ sites. Every customer upgrade is like a small project, and I contribute by coordinating with our engineers and customers. For example, this includes ensuring that customers fulfill the technical requirements and are on track with their part of the planning. I also make sure that customers get the training needed to make use of the new software features. Since I work in first line support, I am also the first point of contact for customers when they reach out to us for help.
What do you like most about your job?
The unlimited possibility to develop. Sectra encourages their staff to constantly learn and to try new things. The flexibility and freedom are also important aspects of why I like my job so much. Sectra gives me the freedom to come up with and try out creative solutions to my daily tasks and business problems. I believe that Sectra recognizes that employee well-being is part of the company’s success, and that makes me feel valuable to the company.
How would you describe Sectra as a workplace?
Sectra has a strong culture. The work environment is open, supportive, flexible, and fun. I really like the way we work together, our spirit and how everyone always does their best. The atmosphere is encouraging, and I’m never afraid of being judged by my colleagues. I can ask whatever question I like, and I will always be met with respect and receive a well-thought-out answer.
What made you apply for a position at Sectra?
Given my education—a master’s degree in psychology—Sectra might not be the obvious choice. But my sister and friend work at Sectra and introduced me to the company. I found out that Sectra’s values correspond with mine. I have worked in youth care, and I like to contribute and help in the healthcare industry. I applied because I understood the potential of Sectra’s product portfolio and how I can contribute to a healthier society by working here.
